Sony Bio Battery can generate energy by burning glucose

sony_bio_battery.jpg Sony's new glucose-operated battery defines the company's green initiative from the ground up. Instead of using ethanol and methanol it has chosen Glucose as its main source of energy. Sony successfully figured out how to generate the most power out of carbohydrates by breaking down enzymes that release active energy, which then can power small electronic devices, very similar to the human body. The Bio Battery is capable of generating up to 50mW of power, enough to power many gadgets we have lying around these days.
