SimCity could benchmark the iPhone as a serious gaming device

simcity_iphone_game.jpg Gaming on the iPhone and iPod touch isn't quite where it needs to be to live up to what Apple would have us believe. As long as EA's developers don't screw up somehow, the soon-to-be-released SimCity for iPhone and iPod touch could turn that tide. The conversion is said to be nearly complete, and most closely resemble the third game in the series SimCity 3000 in terms of play and appearance. Controlling the game will involve some learning on the iPhone, but we are hoping EA fixes all the glitches soon.

Electronic Arts will bring Will Wright's seminal city-building simulation SimCity to Apple's handheld this December, and should cost around $10.
