Sharp's ultra-slim XS1 LCD, D65E display lineup and BD-HP21H Blu-ray player

Keeping up with the "slim is in" fad, Sharp is announcing a lineup of ultra-slim XS1 Aquos series LCD. Measuring23mm thick, this display specs in 1080p, 1,000,000:1. Contrast ration, 100Hz motion processing and detachable speaker system. A choice of 52" or 65" will be available in this line. The sturdy (read bulkier) D65E line specs in 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and sports an "environmentally conscious design" as well. This line includes sizes from 32- to 52-inch models, with prices to match from €899 ($1323) to €2299 ($3380). Sharp also intros a complimenting Blu-ray player, the BD-HP21H, a Bonus View Profile 1.1 model with a quick-start mode. Sharp's new lineup should head to UK in October.
