Along with 17 new LCD TV's Sharp Japan has announced 5 new digital TV tuners which will be available in capacities from 250GB to 1TB. We focus on the top of the line model the DV-ACW80 which packs a mammoth 1TB hard drive. It has two digital and one analog tuner so you can record HBO on the hard drive, Cinemax on the DVD burner while watching CNBC. The recorder supports EPG (Electronic programming guide) and comes with 2 x USB ports for transferring photographs. The unit measures 434×343×68mm and weighs 6kg.

The Sharp AQUOS DV-ACW80 recorder goes on sale in Japan from August 21 for 190,000 Yen ($ 1550)
