Sharp Japan has updated its Aquos range of LCD TVs with three new models at 32", 26" and 20 inches. The LCD panels support a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels, brightness of 450cd/m2, the 32 incher sports a contrast ration of 3000:1 whereas the 26 and 20 inch models have a 1500:1 contrast ratio. Standard features include digital / analog TV tuner, 1 bit digital audio amplifier and 3 HDMI ports. The most interesting feature is the reduced power consumption as the new models consume almost 50% less power than their peers. Also included is a brightness sensor which adjusts the brightness as per the ambient lighting and a signal detector which switches off the panel in the absence of an input signal. The units will go on sale in Japan from February 20 with the 32 inch model selling for 140,000 Yen ($ 1550) and the 26 and 20 inch models selling for 110,000 Yen ($ 1200) and 90,000 Yen ($ 1000) respectively.
