Sharp Aquos 32 and 42 inch LCDs to feature removable BluRay drives
In the early 1990s, TVs with embedded VCRs were some of the most popular consumer electronic designs and flew out of store shelves in a hurry. It was easy and you didn't have to deal with any of those darn complicated cord plugging', video input hassles. Sharp will soon release two Aquos LCD HDTVs with embedded Blu-ray players next month, right after they're unveiled during CES 2009. The TVs will come in 32 inches and 42 inches, and the latter will have 1080p HD resolution and a 120Hz frame-rate processing. Both sizes will feature a multiple slot-loading rig for easy transitions between Blu-rays, DVDs, and CDs. The new models will also get an integrated HDTV tuner, bottom-mounted speaker, with the Blu-Ray drive being unmountable if there is a need for repair.
The Aquos screens with built-in Blu-Ray drives will be on sale in the US right after it's unveiling in CES. No clues yet on its price or availability.
