Sanyo Xacti DMX-WH1 and DMX-CA9 - World's first waterproof HD cameras
Sanyo has started the new year with a bang, it has unveiled five new offerings under the Xacti brand and all of them carry a world's first. We start with the DMX-WH1 (pictured above) and DMX-CA9 we will be covering the DMX-HD2000/FH11 and DMX-CG10 later. All the camcorders record in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format for compatibility with a wide range of devices. Common features include 2.5 inch display, USB ports, mono speaker and stereo microphone. Starting with the DMX-WH1 it has a powerful lens with 30x optical zoom, 43MB of onboard memory, SD card slot and HDMI out. The WH1 is designed for low angle shooting and has the record button on the front side. The DMX-CA9 looks like any other Xacti camera thanks to its vertical design. It has a 9 Megapixel sensor, 5X optical zoom and a brand new image processing engine. The WH1 and CA9 can shoot for 110 and 40 minutes on a single charge.

The DMX-WH1 measures 58.7×112×63mm and weighs 354 grams, it will be made available in two colors white and yellow. The DMX-CA9 on the other hand measures 70×41×111mm and weighs 249 grams you can choose from black, red and green colors. Both the cams will go on sale in Japan by mid-March with the DMX-WH1 selling for 60,000 Yen ($ 650) and the DMX-CA9 selling for 55,000 Yen ($ 600).
