Samsung R700 17-inch laptop is ready for release

Samsung_R700_1.jpg In a bid to expand its Aura line, Samsung has come out with its R700 notebook. This is an international version of the Sens Q70 and features a 17"-screen and hopes to replace the sloppy desktops that lie inmost offices. This thin, slick notebook measures only 1.17 inches thick and includes a baseline GeForce 8400M GS graphics chipset to drive HD playback; an HDMI output is standard for relaying video to a TV, 1.3-megapixel webcam and a full-size keypad, plus a glossy black finish. The notebook will use the Centrino Duo platform, thus indicating a mid-range Core 2 Duo.

Other than the above, little else I sknown at this point but Samsung hope to release the R700 in January for much of Europe and will price the system at £599 ($1,187) after tax in the UK.
