Samsung has introduced two new monitors who are capable enough to display pictures, movies and documents without an additional computer. The 46" Syncmaster 460pxn and 40" Syncmaster 400pxn LCD monitors feature an embedded version of the Windows XP operating system that can show JPGs, Adobe PDFs and play video files. Using Samsung's MagicNet technology, up to four monitors can display the same or different pictures as well as video. After you have finished with the installation of MagicNet software on a network computer, you can stream the media files to the monitors. You can even place the videos, document, pictures and music in a playlist and then transfer to the monitors at pre-determined times. The monitors come with a built-in Ethernet port and one server can send data to up to four monitors. The monitors feature an 8 ms response time along with a native resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels and a viewing angle of 170 degree both horizontally and vertically.

The monitors sport to be upgraded versions of the 460pn and 400pn released last year. They sport brightness of 500 cd/square meter and a contrast ratio of 800:1. The monitors offer common video ports such as HDMI, RGB (Analog and Digital), S-Video and Component. No word on pricing and availability yet.
