Upping the ante in the LCD game is Samsung with their latest line in the F81 series that boasts of 25,000:1 contrast ratio. Modeled on the wineglass shape of the Boreaux design, the latest ones will come in 40" and 46" and will be able to display the dark scenes without compromising the bright portions or noise. They also have 1080p24 playback to reduce vibrations in movies. There is a System link option present to hook you to the Internet. All the new goodies such as 120Hz panel (reduces visual glitches), support ACAP data (allowing the TV to engage in basic two-way interaction over digital TV with out the need for separate Internet link) are present.

Samsung has not provided the details on pricing of the new F81BD line, but they will make an appearance in Korea first and then come to America. Hopefully the line will debut sometime early next year.
