Samsung builds world's largest sea rig

Apart from LCD's, mobile phones, air conditioners, etc, Samsung also makes container ships, LNG carriers and sea rigs. Samsung Heavy Industries has completed the world's largest offshore gas rig for Sakhalin Enery investment. The rig is called Lunskoye A, and is 75 m wide, 126 m long and 100 m high. It will also be entered in the Guiness book of records as the world's largest marine facility. The platform is the equivalent to a 33-story building, and for the first time it was built entirely on land, rather than developing different parts and assembling them. The Lunskoye A weighs around 27,000 tons which is comparable to about 20,000 midsize sedans.
From July the Lunskoye A will be producing 42,000 tons of underwater gas daily for the next 30 years.
