Russia test fires new Nuclear missile and can evade missile defense

star-wars-shield.JPG Upping the ante in the recent geopolitical brinksmanship over Georgia, Poland, and Ukraine, Russia responded by test-firing its new RS-12M nuclear missile. Fired somewhere near Moscow it successfully hit its target near Kamchatka around 4000 miles away. An advanced version of the land-based Topol-M.the RS-12M is a three stage ICBM with a 12000 kms range that carries a 550KT nuclear warhead. So why should you be scared? Well the RS-12M is loaded with an unknown number of advanced "stealth" features designed to prevent interception by ABM (anti ballistic missile) defense. It is road mobile and can be launched in a very short notice from any point during transit making it practically invulnerable to counter strike measures. Russia claims the missile is designed to evade the over ambitious Star Wars missile shield system.
