Roland Japan has announced the CD-2e professional recording system. It has a powerful microphone and records directly to CD-R/RW discs or SD cards. Designed for use in concerts and recording practice sessions the unit weighs only 1.1 kgs making it very easy to carry around. Recording is done in WAV format to retain the quality, space should not be a problem as the unit is compatible with upto 8GB SDHC cards.

The Roland CD-2e measures 267×183×46mm and comes with a remote control. It will go on sale in Japan from November 17th for 60,000 Yen ($ 550).
