Researchers find new ways to steal data with cameras and telescopes

hakkers.jpg Researchers have developed two new methods for stealing data from a computer using just cameras and telescopes. Teams at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and at Saarland University in Saarbrucken, Germany have developed the 2 methods independently. The Saarbrucken team has read computer screens from their tiny reflections on everyday objects such as glasses, teapots, and even the human eye. The UC team has worked out a way to analyze a video of hands typing on a keyboard in order to guess what was being written. Scary as it may sound, both the techniques can pose a threat to confidentiality. BTW I wonder why my boss keeps looking at my hands in this funny way. Is he too trying to decipher what I am writing? Well it's worth the shot, BOSS…read my hand movements…I need a raise! P.S. I guess I'm fired!
