Redfly Mobile Companion from Celio

Redfly.JPG You can easily confuse it for a mini-notebook, bit in reality the Redfly Mobile Companion from Celio is a shell for Windows Mobile smartphones. It features a large, standard keyboard and an LCD screen that is 8 inches in diameter. Hook on the Redfly to the smartphone and the data on phone is displayed on the large screen. It allows you to surf the net, type emails and talk at the same time. The Redfly connects wirelessly via Bluetooth or through USB cords. A tech marriage that overcomes the physical limitations of the smartphone without using a full-fledge notebook. Technically the Redfly functions like a server, the phone processes and communicates and the device only procures data from the phone and blows it up for the larger screen and translates keystrokes to the phone's processor.

The Redfly Mobile Companion starts up quite fast because it doesn't have an independent operating system. It weighs only 2 pounds; the device will start shipping in March and will costs $499..
