Qualcomm will empower cars to dial 999 in case of crashes

Crash-1.jpg Qualcomm has a pretty good idea up its sleeve and this surely seems to be gaining ground among automobile safety freaks. They have managed a new system for vehicles that will dial 999 automatically, after a crash. So far the company has tied up with Audi to build its 3G technology into the all new Audi A8. It has also been directed to bring about the eCall facility that will dial emergency services automatically, after detecting a crash.

The eCall service from Qualcomm is expected to reach Europe this year. It will be available royalty free to anyone who wishes to use it. Car makers, hear ‘em out!
