Qualcomm launches Gobi 2000 adding GPS in laptops

GPS laptop.JPG The next time you lose your laptop in the train you could be able to track it down using your mobile phone internet. Qualcomm expects next generation laptops to have chipsets with GPS devices integrated in them. The new Gobi2000 module has been officially unveiled at MWC, and has been embedded in around 16-19 different laptop and notebook form factors. Other enhancements to Gobi 2 will include higher-speed HSUPA of 5.76 megabits per second, assisted GPS, and support for Linux.


Qualcomm Gobi 2000 will be available in laptops and notebooks from June/July this year.
