Taiwan based Proton will introduce a series of HD LCDs at CES next week ranging from 37 inches to 55 inches. The LCD TV's support 1080p as well as 1080i resolutions and have both digital and analog tuners. Though 55 inch does not sound so big now a days, but competition from such manufacturers forces the biggies like Samsung and Sony to keep the prices down. Proton’s 55-inch and 47-inch LCD TVs will be available in the second quarter of 2006, and the 42-inch model will hit the market in the first quarter. The 37 inch sells for $ 2799.
