Pixel’s Qi LCD is very low on power and also low in cost
Pixels Qi LCD is designed especially for those millions of households that may not have a steady access to electricity. A usual HDTV does not consume less than 100 Watts of power. This has been designed to use upto 10 Watts and also can run on battery. The battery would require to be charged when there is power. Not only this, it can be charged with a solar panel also. Pixel Qi’s multi-mode, e-ink-shaming LCD technology is amazing. Aimed basically for the middle and lower middle class, the price of this LCD has been targeted to be around $100. They claim that the mass production will happen only by the end of 2009.
