Philips brings us exciting new iPhone/iPod docks and network radios
If you thought Philips was hibernating this winter, then you were wrong. They have just announced a slew of iPhone/iPod docks that will whet your appetite for their CES offerings. The lineup includes four pieces, Docking Entertainment System DC350, DLO iBoom, Streamium NP2900 and Multimedia Speakers 2.1 SPA5300. The Docking Entertainment System DC350 is an upright piece that also features a clock radio. Specs include a Bluetooth link enabling hands-free calls from the iPhone or any other Bluetooth cellphone. The 6W system comes with a remote and will probably be out in January for $150. The DLO iBoom is an update of the previous iteration and includes iPhone support, an advanced remote with a display that shows current track information. This one will set you back by $200.
Philips is also introducing two new Streamium network radios. The basic NP2500 and four-speaker, 32W NP2900 boast of large LCD to navigate and pick Internet radio stations, local computers' content and subscription music from RealNetworks' Rhapsody service. Expect to shell out$220 for NP2500 and $320 for the full NP2900. Bringing in the rear is the Multimedia Speakers 2.1 SPA5300. This one's a computer-oriented speaker setup with only one grouse: a wired remote for controlling sound independently of the satellites' positions. Pricing of this one is not known.
