We all remember how Tamagotchi took the world by storm. This latest robot pet from Taiwanese Phison Electronics may soon do the same. U.bo (Designed for U, bo/ball shape) is an alien spore that inhabits a six-legged body. It has an LED face that displays its ‘emotions’. It will call out when it needs feeding. It can walk forwards and backwards, and will also poop, fart, pee and burp after a good meal. U.bo includes the magnetic cookie accessory you need to feed it, as well as interactive software for use with PCs. Use Bluetooth to control U.bo by remote control, but you’ll have to be hands on and give U.bo a shake to clean it up after its toilet. Shake U.bo too much though, and it’ll get dizzy. Spank its bum when it’s naughty and watch it cry and run away in shame. Pet the touch sensors in its bum and back and it’ll be happy, or let U.bo meet a partner and watch them interact by dancing, singing, and kissing.
U.bo is 10cm long, 8.5cm high and weighs 210g. It has 2DC motors that control its legs, and its 2 AA batteries will power it for around 14 hours.
