Pentax has announced the Optio M10 successor to the Optio S. The M10 features a 6 Megapixel CCD sensor and 3X Optical zoom lens. It has 22 MB of internal memory which can be further expanded via SD card slot. It has a large, low-reflection 2.5-inch color LCD monitor with auto LCD dimmer function automatically adjusts backlight brightness according to the incident-light level It has a long battery life - approx 220 images with alkaline AA batteries or 900 images with lithium AA's. The Optio M10 is compatible with the ImageLink printing system, which allows wireless connection of a digital camera to ImageLink-compatible printers.

The Optio M10 features an ergonomically designed grip, which assures a comfortable, steady hold of the camera during shooting and image playback. This grip also contributes to an effective reduction of camera shake.
