Behold, cyclists have something for the iPhone too. It’s called the Pedal Brain. The application-cum-accessory combo comes in three parts. The first is an iPhone/iPod Touch case that is handlebar-mounted, the application on the iPhone and finally a web application. With the help of ANT+ wireless protocol, the carbon-fiber case picks up data from your bike. It pulls together the information and presents it in the form of some good looking graphs that can be shared over the Internet. Now you really need to be a professional cyclist to enjoy the full advantage of this apparatus. The real catch about this setup is the coaching application that allows cycling coaches collate the data and create a customized cycling schedule for the bikers.
The coaching feature of Pedal Brain costs an additional $4 a month. Thanks to the carbon fiber case, the price of the entire kit may come to anything between $130 and $200.
