Panasonic Japan has just announced a couple of new terrestrial digital televisions or portable TV’s called “VIERA”. The two models namely the DMP-BV200 and DMP-HV100 are both equipped with 10.1-inch TFT displays and are more like portable media devices. They’re loaded to the hilt with features and connectivity options. The higher end model the BV200 can be used as a screen for watching Blu-Ray and DVDs. The TV’s also support external memory via memory cards and also supports USB connectivity. They support a vast number of video codecs including MEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 AVCHD, ISDBT Mobile and DivX. In this day and age you can’t have video without a music player or vice versa in most cases, so naturally Panasonic has included a music playback support as well as image viewing.

That’s not all, both the DMP-BV200 and DMP-HV100 also come with Wi-Fi so you can access YouTube videos. For those Panasonic fans who already own a Viera Home Theater and DVR set up with the help of a Wi-Fi dongle called the DY-WL10 you can also stream videos. The higher end DMP-BV200 will be priced at about 90, 000 yen and the DMP-HV100 will set you back about 70,000 Yen that works out to about $993 (USD) and $772 (USD) respectively.
