
Matushita or Panasonic Japan has announced the Viera PX80 a new range of Plasma televisions. Scheduled to go on sale by February 15 the lineup will have three models of 50", 42" and 37" respectively. The 50 incher will offer a resolution of 1,366×768 pixels whereas the 42 and 37 inch models will offer 1024x768 pixels. Standard features include a Digital TV tuner, 15000:1 contrast ratio (previous model had 4000:1), 2 X HDMI ports, Ethernet port, SD card slot and Viera link which allows the user to control compatible Panasonic devices via a single remote.
Panasonic Viera PX80 series goes on sale in Japan from February 15 with the 37" model selling for 200,000 Yen ($ 1891), 42 inch for 240,000 Yen ($ 2269) and 50 inch for 330,000 Yen ($ 3120).
