Panasonic Viera LCD televisions save power intelligently

panasonic_lcd.jpg Panasonic Japan has announced two new LCD televisions TH-P42X1 and TH-P37X1 at 42 and 37 inches. Sporting a resolution of 1,024×768 pixels the TVs come with digital and analog tuners and support for EPG guides. The TV's are also the world's first with a unique automatic power saving feature which works in conjunction with other Panasonic devices connected using Viera link. So if you are watching a program on cable the TV will automatically power off the DVR. In the future corresponding equipment like Home theater, etc will also be a part of this system. Another feature to lower the power bill is the 'Eco stand by' which increases the starting time when powered on but saves power compared to traditional TV's. Scheduled to hit Japanese stores by Feb 1st the 37 incher will go for 180,000 Yen ($ 1500) for the 42 inch model will sell for 210,000 Yen ($ 1800).
