Panasonic ToughBook 52 gets touchy with a touchscreen

panasonic-toughbook-52-touchscreen-1.jpg The new semi-ruggedized notebook offers the usual Toughbook ruggedness, a water protected keyboard and touchpad and a fold out carry handle, and not to mention a drop resistant layout. The notebook features a 13.3-inch XGA touchscreen, which offers 1000 nit brightness and anti glare coatings claiming to provide "excellent clarity, even under bright sunlight and at various angles of view while out in a mobile environment". Specs-wise there's a 160GB hard drive, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 2.0, WLAN and optional WWAN (HSPA), 2GB RAM, four USB 2.0 ports, Firewire, and SD, Express and PC card slots.

The Panasonic Toughbook 52 is available now for prices starting from approx $1700 to around $2550 for the touchscreen laptop.
