Matushita or Panasonic Japan has announced the CN-MP50D GPS, it bundled 2GB SD card comes preloaded with telephone numbers and map information of around 10 million places in Japan. The touchscreen LCD has a resolution of 272×480 and a backlit strong enough to view the screen on a bright day. Unlike other GPS systems it does not have audio or video playback and can only display images as a slideshow from the SD card. The onboard Lithium Ion battery powers the Nabi (thats what they call a GPS in Japan) for 4 hours, it can always be connected to the cigar lighter for power. The user can store upto 500 places and divide them into 10 genres like to eat, to play, etc. The Panasonic CN-MP50D will go on sale in Japan from February 12th for 70,000 Yen ($ 650).
