Olympus celebrates 50 years of E P1 with new lens

Olympus_ep1.jpg Photography could be one of the oldest hobbies especially those who started early. It is always such joy to see those old cameras in their huge sizes and shapes, leather bound or otherwise. Now Olympus is feeling the nostalgia as well and is making evident on its new retro interchangeable lens E P1. It is celebrating 50 years of the PEN film camera and this launch will explain the importance of Olympus in the market as well. The E-P1 includes Olympus' Art Filters, which in this camera you can apply to videos, as well as apply after shooting, to raw files as well as JPEG. Some of its demerits include no on-camera flash or AF-assist light, lacks a viewfinder, optical or otherwise, and the add-on viewfinder only works with the 17mm lens.

With Olympus trying hard reportedly to stay afloat in this market, the price doesn’t come as much of a reliever. The manufacturing price is $749.99 for the body, $799.99 with 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 lens, $899.99 with 17mm f2.8 lens and optical viewfinder and $899.99 with 17mm f2.8 lens and optical viewfinder.
