NTT DoCoMo F883i basic phone

Taking a break from fancy phones with TV tuners, GPS, and multi megapixel cameras, NTT DoCoMo has unveiled the F883i basic phone made for those who use the mobile phone only for making calls. Made in collaboration with Fujitsu the clamshell has a 2.4 inch (240×320 dot) internal display supporting 262k colors and a 1.2 inch (64 x 64 dot) STN display. The phone is targeted towards the aged and has quite a few interesting features. The phone automatically adjusts the voice and ringtone volume based on surrounding noise levels. For eg - It increases the tone and voice volume in a crowded street so the ringtone is easily audible and the user does not have to stress while speaking on the phone. 'Slow Voice' slows down the other person's voice speed and 'Read Aloud' reads out the name of the caller, e-mail sender and i-mode pages.Lastly 'Simple Mail Generation' offers templates for quick replies to e-mails. The phone comes with a Pedometer function which records the step taken, distance covered and calories burned.

The NTT DoCoMo F883i will be available in four colors black, white, gold and pink. It measures 102×51×19.9mm and weighs 103 grams.
