Now you see it, now you don't- Scientists work at making objects invisible

200px-Hollowman-pic.jpgI love those Sci-fi movies that show people becoming invisible, heck I loved the Philadelphia Experiment too. So I'm really excited to know that Scientists are getting closer to turning things invisible. I only hope they don't try and pull some Tom & Jerry type of stunt on us! Just kidding! Read on. Liverpool mathematician Dr Sébastien Guenneau, along with Dr Frédéric Zolla and Professors André Nicolet from the University of Marseille, have used a computer model called GETDP to prove their theory that "objects can also be made to appear invisible from close range when light travels in waves rather than beams." Scientists foresee the use of metamaterials ( it bends electromagnetic radiation thus resulting in invisibility) in military technology, such as in the construction of fighter jets and submarines, but it will take some time to turn you invisible!

If their findings are to be believed, than in about a decade or so scientists will be able to make objects of any shape and size invisible!
