Notion Ink’s Adam tablet could have the iPad running and hiding come MWC
There are very few instances that make me proud to be an Indian and this is one of them. A local company based out of the technologically inspired city of Hyderabad in India, has developed another addition to the Tablet PC range of devices. They’re calling it the Adam and they plan on unveiling it at MWC in Barcelona this year. The device was on hand at CES, but didn’t seem to turn as many heads it probably will now. The finished prototype sports a large 10-inch TFT LCD PixelQi touchscreen display that can go monochrome to save battery juice. With Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip to do all the running, the Adam has tremendous potential to outshine even Apple’s iPad.
It features a 180 degree swivel camera, Wi-Fi, USB connectivity (three), HDMI Out (1080p) and a trackpad that’s located at the back. At the Back! There’s even word that the final product will feature a split keypad for easy thumb typing. They’re running the device on Android 2.1 at the moment and I personally don’t see any reason for a change but with the SDK being released for the developing community a lot can happen. We can expect to see this out sometime in June or July of this year. Can you see the iPad running and hiding…
