Nokia Siemens to set shop in Japan for Vertu services

Vertu.JPG Nokia Siemens has won a contract from Vertu to provide its turnkey MVNO solution to build and manage "Club Vertu," an exclusive suite of mobile services -- such as a members-only concierge -- the U.K.-based luxury handset maker plans to roll out in Japan. Vertu itself is Nokia's premium handset brand, responsible for churning out gold plated and diamond encrusted gadgets that cost a fortune. As a result, the Vertu Japan mobile services are also likely to be targeted at the more affluent end of the market.

This Nokia Siemens deal enables VERTU to introduce value-added services without investing in their own software, equipment, people and skills. Besides the reduced set-up investment, key benefits are a manageable business risk, flexible services and tariffs to address market. In addition, VERTU can focus on marketing and sales rather than telecom operations. Its customers will benefit from a fast service rollout at high Quality of Service.
