Nintendo MP3 player to hit the stores next month
Nintendo’s marvelous DS and revised DS Lite had many cool features, but the makers realized that without a music playback in it, it lacked the required punch. Following the successful US launch of its next gen Wii console, the company has announced the ‘Nintendo MP3 player’, (similar to the ‘Play-Yan’) is an MP3 adaptor for both versions of the DS as well as the GBA and Game Boy Micro. It is shaped like a GBA game cartridge and accepts SD memory cards (it comes along with a free 512MB SD card) from which it will locate and play MP3 files. Very cool player skins will be offered (including a Mario-themed one) while the adaptor itself features another headphone port, however Nintendo hasn’t confirmed whether any of its consoles will be able to play games and music simultaneously.
Nintendo’s MP3 player will be cheap, shipping for just £20 ($ 40) on 8 December.
