Nintendo Japan to launch web browser for DS next month

opera01.jpgNintendo Japan has announced the Web Browser for Nintendo DS will go on sale from July 24th. Opera will be used and the browser will be sold as DS / GBA dual catridge with different version for the DS Lite. Browsing is done using the inbuilt Wi-Fi capabilities of DS. Browsing the web will be fun using the touch pad as it also doubles as a keyboard which is not limited to Japanese only and has an English layout too. Parents need not worry about their kids as the web browsing capabilities can be password protected. You can view the web page in a continuous form on both the pages or enlarge the page in 5 stages from 50% to 150% in either of the screens.

The browser does have its limitations as it cannot open PDF docs, Flash files, Animated images and Sound maybe the next version will support them. The Nintendo DS browser will be available from July 24 for 3,800 Yen ($ 35)
