At Nintendo's mangement policy meeting held in Tokyo Saturo Iwata talked about the Nintendo DS sales with 8.4 million units shipping in 18 months. The DS Lite has also been a huge success with 2 million units shipping in just 2 months. However apart from sales data the most interesting part is this - Nintendo's next gen console the Wii can communicate with the DS wirelessly but the DS can also be used as a touchscreen controller for the Wii said Saturo. Nitendo still rules the portable gaming market in the USA with the GBA at 40 %, PSP at 32% and the DS gaining at 28 %.
