Nintendo DS as the always-on PC

dsdslr.jpg Steve from PanoCamera decided that tagging around a laptop, to accurately control his camera shootings, was just too much effort, so he had to find a better way of doing his work. Steve realized that the time it took for his laptop to load then perform just took precious time out of his tight schedules. By hacking the Nintendo DS that he loved playing around with, and with his high end Canon camera, Steve was able to cut his luggage by 60%, and yet perform with ease. Hooking the camera to the Gameboy cartridge slot took some figuring, but in the end, it essentially involves strobing a pin connected through an optical isolation circuit to the camera’s cable release port.

It is amazing what a simple device like the DS can make one achieve in terms of control and not to mention the saved costs.
