Nike Speed+ watch eliminates the need of iPod

Making news, the latest watch, called the Nike Speed+ vanished minutes after it appeared on Nike’s European website. But I’m sure it’s here to stay once it hits the shelves. Nike is releasing a watch that will communicate with the Nike+ sensor and no longer need the assistance of an iPod. You can now make do without your iPod in the Nike+iPod combination. Nothing officially has been announced yet, but a visitor to the Nike Store Europe website snapped a screenshot of a new Nike product called Nike Speed+. According to the description, the watch will feature wireless integration with Nike+ in-shoe sensors. It can then display distance, pace, elapsed time and calories burned information on the watch’s LCD backlit display. A USB port is provided for downloading data to the Nikeplus website for progress tracking.
Since it’s just leaked news, no word on pricing or availability is announced. But (for most of us) running without music is akin to breathing without oxygen and since this gadget eliminates the need of your iPod, only time can prove its endurance.
