The iPhone will have a complete facelift once the OS4 comes in. With features as cool as the very evasive multitasking coming in you can soon look your Symbian-loving rival in the eye and say, ‘even I have a home button on my phone that when pressed, shows me all the open apps’. Oh, the feeling, I tell you… However, the multitasking is limited only to audio streaming, VoIP and GPS applications. There’s also something for those who love switching apps quickly. Applications can now be frozen when minimized, thus returning them to the state they were left in. Last but not the least is the final feature called Local notifications. This means that if there’s any change in the location from where you downloaded an application then you can switch back to this application if it is minimized.
This is a cool feature, especially for those who keep files for downloading and forget all about them. OS4 will ship in June.
