New iPod Touch camera just about 1 megapixel, there was no room for higher

iPod-Touch-Camera-1.jpg The new iPod Touch, Nano and Shuffle along with a whole lot of neat new Apple stuff was announced just last night and I have to say, I’m quite impressed. The new Touch though, seems like an iPhone minus the phone part with its retina display and A4 processor, but I have no real complaints. I’m particularity happy with the new cameras they loaded onto the device. If you’re under the impression that the iPhone and iPod Touch cameras are the same though, think again. The main (rear) camera’s resolution on the Touch is just 1MP i.e. 960 x 720 pixels. But you’ll still get 720p HD videos however. From iFixIt we now understand that there was just no more space in the new Touch to include a high resolution camera with two cams already on board. I’m curious to see just how good the new camera actually is. Will it be as good as the Philips GoGear Cam? I can’t wait to check it out.
