Never Get Locked Out of Home Again

schlage_zwave.jpg Have you ever been in a situation when you have locked yourself out of home by mistake? And then you have to call a locksmith to break your lock down and change locks all over. Painful even reading it is it not? Well, if Schlage's Web-enabled Z-Wave door locks become popular, locksmiths will have nothing to do but copy swimming-pool keys. Expected to be on shelves in the fourth quarter of this year, Schlage's wireless, Internet-enabled locks can be locked, unlocked and monitored from any device utilizing a Web browser, including cell phones. The wireless, battery-powered Z-Wave works by communicating with a Z-Wave gateway connected to any broadband router.

While the price of the gadget has not been announced yet, Dwight Gibson, general manager for Ingersoll Rand, Schlage's parent company, is quoted in a Cepro.com article saying the lock will be "affordable." Schlage's current offering of electronic locks range from $119 to $139.
