Music Industry Giant, Sony, Set to Take on iTunes

sony-itunes-1.jpg Could anything rival the iTunes we know and love? Sony certainly hopes and seems to believe so. Rumor has it that the music industry giant is set to announce its iTunes competitor in Berlin at the IFA press conference, starting September 3rd. This move follows the President of Sony, Howard Stringer’s, prediction that 90% of all Sony products would connect to each other and the web by 2011. With deals with all the major record labels and studios being put in place, Sony looks set to change the future of musical cyberspace with its iTunes rival. Indeed, since most of Sony technology is already net-friendly, this seems to be a natural progression that would otherwise leave Sony trailing behind its competitors.

Sony’s iTunes rival is set for a 2011 launch. It will work in conjunction with the PlayStation 3 and would be compatible with all of Sony’s range of entertainment devices – Walkman’s, Vaio, Bravia TVs, Blu-ray and Sony Ericsson mobiles.
