Borrowing the design from an electric guitar Japanese company MPIO has unveiled the FL500 DAP. Shaped as a triangle it has 1 / 2 GB of internal memory and can playback MP3 and WMA with support for DRM 10. There are no fancy controls for switching modes a simple knob allows you to switch between MP3 player, FM tuner and Voice recorder. A three line 128 x 48 dot OLED screen displays track information. The onboard Lithium Ion battery has enough juice for 15 hours of playback. The FL500 connects via USB to its host and is compatible with Windows and Mac OS as well.

The MPIO FL500 DAP measures 35.8×65.5×15.3mm and weighs 23 grams. It is bundled with a neck strap and belt clip, it goes on sale tomorrow (June 22) in Japan for 6980 Yen ($ 55) for 1GB and 8980 Yen ($ 72) for 2GB.
