Motorola builds a bicycle for recharging mobile phones
Well earlier on bicycles were built for young lads trying to woo young lasses to join them for a ride to the church (like the song ‘Daisy Daisy’) but now a days they are being built to offer you the comfort of charging your cell phones on it. Motorola’s chief executive Ed Zander made quite an entrance at the CES on a bright yellow bicycle. His aim was to highlight the new feature that they are to sell to "emerging markets," (read: third world countries and China) where there is a scarcity of energy resources. China looks to be a promising market as more than 500 million Chinese rely on the cycle as the primary mode of transportation.
The Motorola bike will sport a cell phone charging system, where a cradle on the handlebars would house the mobile, while the motion of the pedals would generate electricity to recharge its battery pack.
