Microsoft will soon have its own chain of retail stores to showcase its software and entertainment products. These stores are set to launch this fall and some of them are said to be located right next to the Apple stores! Microsoft COO, Kevin Turner confirmed this news, but did not give any details with respect to the date of launch or the actual location of these stores. But we do predict that the stores may be launched along with Windows 7 on October 22, 2009. Microsoft had unveiled similar store in San Francisco's Metreon center many years ago, but it was shut down in 2001. With a powerful backing from former Wal-Mart executive David Porter, Microsoft is all set to conquer the retail space, once again.
