Miami guy clocks a $4000 iPhone bill
A Miami resident decided to take his iPhone along on a short trip to France. He used the iPhone to check his email and send text messages. AT&T swept him off his feet with a data usage bill to the tune of $4190.76. If this was not enough his friends made the above video so he does not take his iPhone along on his next Europe trip.
The tips for international data usage recommended by AT&T are:
* Turn Data Roaming “OFF” via Settings>General>Network>Data Roaming
* Use Wi-Fi Instead of 3G, GPRS or EDGE via Settings>Airplane Mode to “OFF” and select Wi-Fi to “ON” is an extra safety message to turn of the cellular radio
* Turn Fetch New Data “OFF” via Settings>Fetch New Data Change Push to “OFF” and Select to Fetch Manually
* Consider purchasing one of AT&T’s International Data Packages
* Reset the iPhone Usage Tracker to Zero - to track your actual usage Settings>General>Usage>Reset
