MDI air-powered AIRPod car expected by end of this year
After seeing cars powered by H2O, we have now landed on the ultimate means of clean driving with a car that’s powered by air. There are limitations of course, but it’s awfully true that air is a lot more available than water, though not in the purest of forms. It’s called the AirPod, and it serves the purpose for just one passenger. Though there is some room to squeeze in a few scrawny bodies at the rear end of the car. The prototype, which was tested and driven, was capable of scaling up to speeds of 30 mph. No need to hang your head at this though, there is speculation that the commercial model will touch 50 mph. It needs you to curl yourself to crawl into the vehicle. Once in, all you need to do is use the joystick to maneuver and steer the vehicle. Acceleration and braking are handled using the usual pedals.
The MDI air-powered AIRPod will be available in France by the end of this year for €6,000 ($8,380). The car uses air compressed to 2,900 psi to function.
