Manley Labs re-launched, beefed up Stingray iTube Amplifier plays nice with Apple products
For the audiophile who like to stick to the old school design forms that involve the use of tubes in audio electronic components (I†m a personal fan of this style myself), Manley Labs, a California-based company has just what the doctored ordered. They†ve recently launched a new integrated amplifier called the Stingray iTube. For those of you who will remember the original Stingray that was out maybe a decade or so ago, iTube is a sort of tribute to the same with a few minor tweak of course. I†m sure you†ve pretty much guessed what that entails just from the name, thatâ€s right, the iTube comes equipped with an iPod/iPhone docking port and controls for the same.
Some of the other additions to the ‘upgrade†also include S-video output, a headphone input, a subwoofer output, record out and additional inputs for hooking up your DVD, CD player et al. Of course improved energy storage for the ampâ€s tube for much better audio is something that we had to expect as well. The newly re-launched, buffed up Stingray iTube Integrated Amplifier is priced at $3,400.
