Lowdown on EA Sports Active for Wii

ea_for_wii.jpg Wii fit and Wii Sports are a hit so a lot of expectations ride over EA Sports Active. Bob Greene, Oprah's personal trainer is associated with the game, so expect some pledges to be signed before starting the game! Wicked! EA Sports Active is a family oriented game but specifically targets women who want to stay fit in a fun, non-competitive way. The title will be the first in a new line of EA SPORTS fitness and sports performance products in development to improve the well being of people of all ages. Active targets both the upper and lower body plus cardio. The game is meant for two players and it offers a new level of motivation with on-screen, real-time feedback on your workout such as calories burned. You can even modify the intensity levels to suit your capabilities.

EA Sports Active comes with two specially designed leg straps that hold the Wii's Nunchuk controller to track lower body movements, as well as a resistance band to support a number of upper body strength training exercises. You can pick the game up in Spring 2009 for around $59.99.
