It is a sport scar that would be at home on the back roads, freeways and autobahns, as well as on city streets of America! Yeah you guessed it right, it is Lotus. Lotus today officially declared that its 2007 Exige S coupe will be offered in the U.S. market, regardless of earlier claims to the contrary. The Lotus Exige S is the latest addition to the Exige range and is a real sport scar that redefines the term “Extreme Performance”. The British automaker calls the car the "quickest Lotus production car" ever made. It weighs just 935 kg (2057 lbs) and is powered by a 218 horsepower high-revving supercharged engine, giving a zero to 100 km/h time of just 4.3 seconds (0 – 60 mph in 4.1 seconds). Fuel economy is expected somewhere between 25 and 30 mpg. With 90.5 kW / liter (121.4 hp / liter, 123 PS / liter), it is one of most powerful production cars in the world for its engine size but most importantly it has full type approval for all the markets in which it will be sold.

Lotus believes that there is no car on sale anywhere in the world that has such good performance combined with such good fuel economy! The Lotus Exige S is not a limited edition, nor is it an aftermarket special – it is manufactured from start to finish in the world leading and award winning Lotus Manufacturing facility at Hethel, Norfolk. The 148 mph car will hit the US roads for $56,990.
